CHIEF, DIVISION OF GENERAL INTERNAL MEDICINE DEPARTMENT OF INTERNAL MEDICINE
The University of Nebraska Medical Center is conducting a search for the next Chief of General Internal Medicine. This is an outstanding opportunity to build on the division's existing foundation of world class clinical care and education programs developed over a 50-year history. The division has 57 physicians and researchers who teach 500 medical students, conduct research, and practice medicine at nine locations in the Omaha metropolitan area. These sites include the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Durham Outpatient Clinic, Nebraska Medicine Olson Center for Women's Health, Midtown, Bellevue Medical Center, Brentwood, Nebraska Medicine Eagle Run, Fontenelle, Nebraska Medicine Elkhorn, and Nebraska Medicine Village Pointe. The Chief reports to the Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine and will lead the Division with the responsibility for clinical service, teaching, and research as well as academic planning, development, and resource management. The successful candidate will have an M.D. degree (or equivalent) and Board Certification in Internal Medicine. The candidate will currently hold the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with experience in leadership and management in an academic setting. He/she will possess outstanding clinical and teaching skills, can foster research, and share a commitment to service, excellence, and belonging and community engagement environment.
