Job Description

Data Strategy Lead Duration:
3+ months. Rate is $70-89/hr.
Location:
This position can either be onsite at the Sunnyvale, CA location or remote. The worker should be U.S. based.
Description:
Data Strategy Lead About the role This opportunity sits within the Digital Transformation Office that is focused on reshaping future, driving strategy, process, system, structural and behavioral change across. The Data Strategy Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the organizations digital transformation goals. This role requires strong project management skills to oversee data-related initiatives and the ability to design effective data operating models that enhance data governance, quality, and accessibility. We are looking for a proven change leader excited to usher new era of Digital Transformation. The ideal candidate should be a good problem-solver with a keen ability to diagnose functional needs, deal with ambiguity, where we are and where we want to be, develop a blueprint / roadmap, and execute.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Strategy Development:
Define and articulate the organizations data vision and strategy in alignment with business objectives. Identify key data initiatives that support digital transformation efforts and drive business value.
Project Management:
Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of data projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints. Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies to manage multiple data initiatives simultaneously.
Data Operating Model Design:
Design and implement a robust data operating model that encompasses data governance, architecture, and management practices. Establish processes for data collection, storage, processing, and analysis to ensure data integrity and security.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Communicate data strategy and initiatives effectively to various audiences, including executive leadership.
Performance Measurement:
Develop metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of data initiatives and the overall data strategy. Continuously monitor and refine the data strategy based on performance insights and changing business needs.
Team Leadership:
Mentor and guide team members in data management best practices and project management methodologies. Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Desired Skills and Experience:
10+ years of experience in data engineering, data strategy, or digital transformation roles Proven track record leading a major data or digital transformation end-to-end Strong data engineering fundamentals
  • deep understanding of how data is structured, organized, modeled, and managed Experience designing data operating models and enterprise data strategies Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, preferably Snowflake AI and machine learning knowledge
  • ability to identify use cases, guide implementation, and embed ML capabilities into business processes Strong program and project management skills, with the ability to drive execution across global, cross-functional teams Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • comfortable influencing without authority at all levels of the organization Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value for non-technical audience
