Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Programmer specializing in robotic welding systems, specifically with expertise in Miller and Lincoln welding equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, commissioning, and maintaining robotic welding cells to ensure efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize robotic performance, and support lean manufacturing principles to enhance production output. Responsibilities Program, troubleshoot, and optimize robotic welding systems using Fanuc and other robotics platforms to meet production specifications. Develop and modify robot programs for Miller/Lincoln welders, ensuring precise and consistent weld quality. Integrate robotics with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), vision inspection systems, and distributed control systems to streamline manufacturing workflows. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to support tooling setup and maintenance. Conduct root cause analysis on system malfunctions or quality issues, implementing corrective actions promptly. Collaborate with mechanical engineers and manufacturing teams to improve process efficiency using lean manufacturing principles. Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks for designing tooling or fixtures needed for robotic welding applications. Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of robotic systems to minimize downtime. Support the implementation of CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) standards where applicable in regulated environments. Assist in training operators on robotic systems operation, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques. Requirements Proven experience programming Fanuc or similar robotic welding systems in a manufacturing setting. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings. Familiarity with Miller/Lincoln welding equipment and robot programming techniques specific to these brands. Knowledge of robotics integration with vision inspection systems and distributed control systems (DCS). Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies to promote continuous improvement initiatives. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other CAD software for tooling design purposes. Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex system issues efficiently. Understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics related to automated manufacturing processes. Knowledge of machining processes, tooling setup, and fabrication techniques is a plus.
