About Us Bay Area Smart Home specializes in premium residential technology systems including Savant automation, Sonos audio, Lutron lighting and shades, networking, surveillance, landscape lighting, and custom AV installations. We work on high-end residential projects where attention to detail, professionalism, and problem-solving skills are critical. Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated technician who can both install and program smart home systems. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on field work while also having the technical skills to configure, troubleshoot, and commission advanced automation systems. The ideal candidate can work independently, communicate professionally with clients and contractors, and take ownership of projects from rough wiring through final programming and customer training. Primary Responsibilities Install TVs, speakers, AV racks, cameras, network equipment, access points, and automation hardware. Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage wiring.

Install and troubleshoot:

Savant systems Sonos audio systems Lutron lighting and shades FX Luminaire landscape lighting Security cameras and networking equipment Build and wire equipment racks. Maintain clean and professional installations. Programming & Commissioning Program and commission Savant systems. Configure user interfaces, scenes, schedules, and automation routines.

Integrate:

Lighting systems Audio/video systems Climate control Security systems Landscape lighting Configure network equipment. Diagnose and resolve programming and integration issues. Perform remote support and service work. Client & Project Support Train homeowners on system operation. Work closely with builders, electricians, designers, and project managers. Document system configurations and project changes. Maintain accurate job notes and service records. Required Qualifications 3+ years of residential low-voltage installation experience. Experience with Savant programming and commissioning.

Strong understanding of:

IP networking Wi-Fi systems AV distribution Smart home integration Clean driving record. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on ladders and in attics. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Professional appearance and communication. Preferred Qualifications Savant certification.

Experience with:

Lutron RA3 Sonos IC Realtime cameras Araknis or Netgear networking Outdoor audio and lighting systems Rack-building experience. Basic electrical knowledge. Project leadership experience. Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
