As the Lead Mazak Milling Setup Engineer & Cell Programmer, you'll be the technical anchor for our Mazak vertical and horizontal machining centers—writing programs, executing setups, elevating quality, and mentoring a compact team of operators. What drives this role Quality parts, reliable processes, and continuous improvement. You'll combine programming expertise with hands-on setup to keep our machining cell efficient, safe, and audit-ready. Your core responsibilities Configure and run Mazak VMC/HMC equipment to meet part specifications and schedules. Develop and refine CNC programs in Mazatrol and G-code. Manage tooling strategy, offsets, and in-process adjustments to stabilize performance. Validate results using precision measuring instruments and quality procedures. Partner with engineering and production to enhance toolpaths and machining methods. Maintain an orderly, safe work environment. Diagnose and resolve machining challenges to minimize downtime. Capture production data and maintain complete, accurate records. Provide day-to-day leadership for 2-3 milling operators—set direction, coach, and assist with issues. What you bring High school diploma or equivalent; technical machining education/certification preferred. Proven background setting up and programming Mazak vertical and horizontal machining centers. Expertise with Mazatrol and G-code. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Experience with precision measurement and quality control practices. Strong attention to detail and a practical problem-solving approach. Clear communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to adjust hours to meet production requirements. Your first 90 days Learn our part mix, fixtures, and standards; verify programs and offset strategies.

Stabilize cycle times and quality through targeted tooling and programming updates.
