Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Alarm Programmer to join our security systems team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and programming comprehensive alarm and security systems tailored to client specifications. Your expertise will ensure that each system functions seamlessly, providing reliable protection for commercial and residential properties. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge security technology, collaborate with field technicians, and contribute to the safety and security of our clients. Duties Develop and customize alarm system programming using specialized software, ensuring compatibility with various security components such as sensors, CCTV, fire alarms, and access controls Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system design documents to accurately install and configure alarm systems Collaborate with field service technicians to troubleshoot system issues remotely or on-site, providing detailed programming instructions and support Integrate low voltage electrical wiring, cabling, and telecommunication connections to ensure optimal system performance Configure remote access software for client monitoring and management of security systems from any location Test alarm systems thoroughly before deployment to verify sensor functionality, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), CCTV feeds, and overall system integrity Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, programming changes, and service records for future reference and compliance Skills Strong understanding of computer networking principles essential for configuring networked security devices and remote access solutions Mechanical knowledge useful for understanding physical installation requirements involving power tools, hand tools, schematics, and construction environments Proven experience as a service technician in security or fire alarm systems with a focus on troubleshooting and system upgrades Knowledge of computer hardware components related to security devices and their integration into larger systems Familiarity with system design principles including NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for low voltage wiring and electrical safety practices Experience working with surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras, sensors, alarms, locks, and IDS technologies Ability to read technical schematics accurately and implement wiring diagrams for complex security installations Skilled in the use of power tools, hand tools, cabling techniques, and construction practices necessary for secure installations Knowledge of alarm system sales processes to assist in client consultations or upgrades when needed Understanding of telecommunication systems used in modern security solutions including remote access software platforms Join us as an Alarm Programmer if you're passionate about safeguarding properties through innovative technology!
