Job Description
Aerobraze, a division of Wall Colmonoy manufactures turbine engine components like turbine nozzles, turbine vanes, complete turbine engines (both manufacturing and repair), diffusers, honeycomb seals and segments, heat shields, and parts for various turbomachinery. Essential ResponsibilitiesCNC Programming & Process DevelopmentProgram CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam to produce precision aerospace componentsAssist in machine selection, operation sequencing, and process planningDevelop machining strategies optimized for quality, repeatability, and efficiencySelect appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting strategies based on material and part geometryFixture & Tooling DesignDesign and develop fixtures conceptually and/or in SolidWorksCollaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure fixturing meets production and quality requirementsSpecify cutting tools, holders, probes, and workholding solutionsShop Floor SupportPerform first-part setup and run-off on assigned programsSupport first article inspection (FAI) and resolve any machining or process issuesProvide hands-on troubleshooting support during program prove-out and production ramp-upDocumentation & TrainingCreate clear, detailed setup sheets, including: Tool listsFixture setupsWork offsetsProgramming and inspection notesTrain machine operators on: Program executionSetup requirementsProcess intent and critical quality characteristicsContinuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve cycle time, tool life, and process reliabilitySupport lean manufacturing, standardization, and continuous improvement initiativesWork collaboratively with quality, engineering, and operations teams to resolve non-conformancesQualifications and Experience CAD/CAM ExperienceMinimum 3 years of SolidWorks modeling experienceMinimum 3 years of Mastercam programming experience Mills, lathes, and part probing requiredWire EDM and/or plunge EDM experience is a strong plusMachining ExperienceMinimum 5 years of hands-on machining experience, including: Vertical MillsHorizontal LathesVertical LathesAdditional experience with the following is preferred: Horizontal Mills5-Axis MillsWire EDMPlunge EDMLive tooling environmentsExperience in AS9100 / FAA-regulated aerospace environmentsStrong understanding of GD&T and inspection methodsComfortable working independently with minimal supervisionStrong communication skills and the ability to mentor operators and junior programmersDetail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityAbility to read, interpret, and apply aerospace engineering drawings, GD&T, and specificationsWe offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and a supportive and exciting work environment.
