Work Schedule:
Full-time (40 hours/week), with a schedule that may include any day of the week, including days, evenings, weekends, and the holidays the Library is open. We're looking for an Outreach Adult Programmer who is compassionate, creative, and passionate about connecting adults and seniors with library services beyond our walls. If you enjoy building meaningful community partnerships, delivering engaging programs to older adults and caregivers, and ensuring that homebound patrons can access library resources, materials, and lifelong learning opportunities, this role offers a rewarding way to make a direct, personal impact across Kenton County. What You'll Do Deliver library services beyond library walls by providing outreach to assisted-living facilities, retirement centers, and other adult-serving community spaces. Plan and present engaging programs for older adults, seniors, and caregivers that support lifelong learning and enrichment. Coordinate and maintain deposit and rotating collections tailored to the interests and needs of outreach partners. Build and nurture strong community partnerships that expand access to library resources and services across Kenton County. Provide reader's advisory, basic technology help, and informational support to adult and homebound patrons. Regularly visit community partners to deliver materials, programs, and personalized library services. Promote Outreach Services and library resources enthusiastically to patrons, partners, and the broader community. Collaborate with staff systemwide to support outreach initiatives, storytimes, and special projects. Assess, evaluate, and refine outreach programs, services, and collections to better meet patron needs. Track outreach activities and prepare thoughtful monthly reports that highlight community impact. Perform other job-related tasks as needed to support Library operations. What We're Looking For A compassionate, community-centered professional who is motivated by expanding access to library services for adults and seniors. Someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships and feels comfortable working in a variety of community settings beyond the library. A creative programmer who can design engaging, inclusive experiences tailored to the interests and needs of older adults and caregivers. A warm, service-oriented communicator who approaches outreach work with empathy, flexibility, and enthusiasm. A proactive problem-solver who adapts to change, thinks creatively, and follows through on ideas to create impactful outreach experiences. A collaborative team member who works well across departments and is committed to advancing systemwide library goals. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree required. KDLA certification (or ability to obtain) at the level required for this position, and the ability to maintain it. Demonstrated customer-service experience, patience under pressure, and comfort interacting with a wide range of patrons. Experience working with seniors and/or individuals in memory care preferred. Work at other KCPL locations required. Valid driver's license and means of transportation to fulfill job responsibilities. Following training, must drive and park Library vehicles. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs., and occasional reaching, bending, and kneeling.
