Job Description

Background:
SWS-Trimac, Inc. is an Engineering company that specializes in providing electron beam and laser welding, CNC machining, plus destructive and non-destructive testing services to the automotive, aerospace, biomedical, chemical, defense, and other markets since 1967.
We specialize in joining metals:
from the standard 1018 carbon and stainless steels to the more exotic aerospace-grade aluminum, titanium, copper, nickel and cobalt alloys. From small-lot prototype development to large volume turnkey production, we are a contract manufacturer that consistently meets customer specification and timing requirements.
Job Function:
SWS-Trimac, Inc is seeking to fill a need for a CNC Okuma Lathe Operator & Programmer. Successful candidates will be a key team member in our machine shop.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile. Perform job/tool setups on Okuma CNC lathes. The employee is also required to interact with a computer(s) utilizing company software and communicate with co-workers. Thorough understanding of the Okuma control is desired. Ability to work with limited direction and supervision.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough understanding of GD&T Familiarity with a variety of tooling and fixturing/work holding. Good math skills. Ability to communicate to Quality Department regarding first article and random inspections. Excellent understanding of manufacturing equipment, ability to understand function of equipment, and each of the machines capabilities. Verbal Communication with supervisors and other employees. Functional and Technical Skills regarding, Tooling, Attention to Detail, and proper Judgment. Education /
Experience:
High School diploma/GED Equivalent Required. Associate degree in Machine Tool Trade a plus. Job Shop or Prototype experience a plus. Journeyman tool and die maker experience a plus. Five (5) years of experience in related position in the machine tool industry required.
Other Requirements and Specifics:
Employment subject to pre-employment and random Alcohol and Drug Screening. Employment subject to a background check. Candidate must have a valid driver's license. Applicant must be a US person as defined by 22 C.F.R. Chapter I, Subchapter M, Part 120.15 U.S. Person. (Generally speaking, a U.S. Citizen). Starting Wage depends upon qualifications and abilities at time of employment.
