Logistics Systems Programmer Reports to:

Warehouse Division The Logistics Systems Programmer is responsible for supporting and enhancing the company's warehouse and transportation management systems, including RAMP and Trimble. This role focuses on developing and maintaining SQL-based reports, managing system data, and supporting EDI transactions with customers and partners. The Programmer works closely with operations and IT to ensure accurate date flow, troubleshoot systems issues, and implement system improvements. Responsibilities also include integrating new customers and applications into existing systems and maintaining reliable system performance. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient, accurate, and scalable logistics operations. Systems Development & Integration Design, develop, and maintain integrations between warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and external customer systems. Build and support electronic data interchange (EDI) connections with customers, vendors and third -party partners. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to onboard new customers and integrate their systems into company platforms. Application Programming & Support Develop, modify, and maintain applications using Visual C++ within the Visual Studio environment. Support and enhance existing systems, including RAMP (WMS) and Trimble (TMS) platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks. Participate in system upgrades, patches, and enhancements. Database Management & Support Write, optimize, and maintain queries, stored procedures, and scripts in SQL Server. Design and generate operational and customer-facing reports using report writing tools. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems. EDI & Data Exchange Develop, test and maintain EDI transactions (e.g. 850, 856, 810, etc.). Monitor EDI processes to ensure successful transmission and receipt of data. Troubleshoot EDI errors and coordinate with customers and vendors to resolve issues. Maintain documentation for EDI mappings and workflows. System Integration & Implementation Support integration of new software and applications, tools, and technologies into existing infrastructure. Work closely with operations, IT, and external partners during system implementations. Assist in testing (unit, integration, and user acceptance testing) for new integrations an system changes. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Partner with operations teams to understand warehouse and transportation workflows and identify automation opportunities. Recommend system improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Document processes, system configurations, and technical specifications. Provide technical support and guidance to internal users. Compliance & Best Practices Ensure data security and compliance with company policies and customer requirements. Follow coding standards, version control practices, and change management procedures. Maintain backup, recovery, and date protection standards.
