8:00am to 4:30pm Position Objective The Inpatient Facility Coding Analyst is responsible for coding and abstracting demographic and clinical data to meet the needs and demands of claims completion, disease and procedure indexing, and case-mix indexing using an in-house computerized EMR and abstracting system. Requirements are representative of the minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and experience required. To perform this position successfully, the employee must possess the abilities and aptitudes to perform each essential function proficiently. The Inpatient Facility Coding Analyst will not be required to make decisions relating to any other policies or procedures within the department without consultation of the Coding Analyst Supervisor/Manager or Department Director. codes Inpatient Facility coding will consist of accurately assigning MSDRG and APRDRGs to IP accounts along with reviewing and assigning accurate facility charges, ancillary charges (hospital labs and imaging, vaccine administrations, etc..), UB-04 claim information (condition codes, Occurrence codes etc...), telehealth, major/minor procedures, surgical OR charts. Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of data by keeping spread sheets and work ques up to date Discuss any problems regarding coding, abstracting, or related tasks with the Technical Coordinator/Manager Maintain proficiency in coding systems, EHR/EMR, Vitalware, 3M Work on Inpatient Facility DRG and diagnosis denials Maintain accuracy rate of 95% or higher Maintain assigned productivity metrics Other Responsibilities Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health's mission, vision, values, policies and procedures Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability Required Qualifications Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Graduate of a Health Information Technician Program eligible for accreditation Graduate of a Coding Specialist Program Coding Certification required (RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCA, CIC, CPC) Preferred Qualifications Minimum of one-year of coding experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge and skill in the use of ICD-10-CM and
