Job Description

Right from the start, American Locker has continually led the industry we invented with an unstoppable series of innovative solutions - like inventing the first coin-operated locker. Our years of innovative American manufacturing have led us to create the widest range of customized solutions in the industry. Our smart locker systems are built to satisfy any solution with maximum security; intelligent key less lockers that accept credit cards, charge laptops, send text messages, and more. We are currently seeking a Laser Programmer to work on site at our North Las Vegas facility. About the Role As the Laser Programmer, you will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs that drive our laser cutting operations. You will translate engineering designs into precise machine instructions, ensuring high-quality output, efficient material usage, and consistent production performance. You'll work closely with engineering and production teams to support both new product introduction and ongoing manufacturing, with a strong focus on sheet metal fabrication. This is a highly hands-on role that requires both technical expertise and problem-solving ability—you're not just writing programs, you're making sure they work in the real world. What You'll Do CNC Programming & Optimization Create, edit, and maintain CNC programs (G-code) for laser cutting and related machinery Utilize CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) to develop accurate and efficient programs Optimize programs for speed, material utilization, and machine efficiency Support programming for Amada Mitsubishi laser systems and related equipment Blueprint & Design Interpretation Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models Apply GD&T principles to ensure precision and compliance with specifications Translate design intent into manufacturable processes Process Setup & Tooling Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters (feeds, speeds, offsets) Support setup and validation of new jobs on the production floor Ensure programs are production-ready and repeatable Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement Diagnose and resolve programming and machining issues in real time Debug programs and adjust for machine performance or material variation Partner with engineering and operations to improve processes and reduce waste Quality Assurance Inspect first-run parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) Ensure all output meets engineering and quality standards Identify and address root causes of defects related to programming or process Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with manufacturing engineering, machinists, and production teams Support new product introduction and prototyping efforts Contribute to process improvements across fabrication and finishing operations Requirements We're Looking For Strong experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) Proficiency in G-code programming for CNC machinery Experience with laser cutting systems (Amada Mitsubishi preferred) Solid understanding of machining processes, materials, and fabrication methods Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T Core Capabilities Strong mathematical skills (algebra, geometry, trigonometry) High attention to detail and commitment to precision Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine behavior Education High school diploma required Technical certificate or associate degree in machining, manufacturing, or engineering preferred Nice to Have / Expanded Scope Experience with automation in a manufacturing environment Exposure to powder coating or paint shop processes Familiarity with integrated production environments (cutting → finishing workflows) What Success Looks Like Programs run efficiently with minimal errors or rework High-quality parts produced consistently to specification Reduced material waste and improved cycle times Strong collaboration between programming, engineering, and production What You'll Get Be part of a rapidly growing, innovative company transforming package management solutions.
