Job Description

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Metrology Programmer to join our dynamic team, focusing on the measurement and inspection of parts and components using various metrology equipment. This role is critical in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metrology principles, including experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), optical measuring machines (OMMs), and arm CMMs, as well as a solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Operate and maintain various metrology equipment, including CMMs, OMMs, and arm CMMs Perform measurements and inspections of parts and components to ensure compliance with design specifications and tolerances Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine measurement requirements and tolerances Develop and implement measurement plans and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient measurement of parts and components Analyze measurement data and provide detailed reports, including statistical analysis and recommendations for improvement Perform calibration procedures for metrology equipment and maintain calibration records Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve measurement-related issues, improve overall product quality, and maintain a clean and organized workspace adhering to 5S principles Degree in Metrology, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in metrology or a related field or equivalent experience Experience with CMMs, OMMs, and arm CMMs, including programming and operation Strong understanding of GD&T principles and practices Familiarity with metrology principles, including technical drawing interpretation, calibration procedures, and data analysis Software familiarity with PC-DIMS, Polyworks, or other metrology software is a plus Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project-focused environment, and excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with experience in internal quality systems and laboratory information management systems LIMS
