We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Waterjet Programmer/Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC waterjet cutting equipment to produce high-quality parts according to aerospace specifications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is an advanced level role responsible for creating 2D and 3D CAD part and cut up layouts, creating complex waterjet programs along with work holding solutions, optimizing production processes, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision in aerospace component manufacturing. This position requires proficiency in CAD and waterjet programming, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor and lead others in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Create 2D / 3D CAD layouts along with manual part layouts, proficiency in SolidWorks preferred Create waterjet programs along with work holding solutions Set Up, adjust, operate and maintain two OMAX water jets Perform sawing operations when required - Band Saw and Abrasive Saw Interpret and validate complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications. Collaborate with Engineering to ensure all customer requirements are maintained Develop and refine cut up processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and throughput. Perform advanced inspections and quality checks using CMMs and other precision instruments. Troubleshoot and resolve complex machining and programming issues. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support new product introductions and process validations. Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to team members. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for quality or production issues. Maintain compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100) and internal procedures. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to lean manufacturing efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred. 5+ years of waterjet programming, CAD or related experience Proficient in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and GD&T. Skilled in using advanced inspection tools and techniques. Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming. Familiarity with AS9100 and other aerospace quality systems. Ability to stand for extended periods. Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision work.
