In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining z/OS-based solutions that optimize system performance, security, and reliability. Your expertise will drive the seamless operation of complex IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and robust system architecture. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, innovative environment dedicated to excellence in mainframe computing. Duties Develop, test, and implement z/OS system programs and utilities to support enterprise operations. Manage system configuration, including RAID controller setups and storage solutions, to ensure data integrity and performance. Design and maintain system architecture utilizing service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles for scalable and flexible solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Pegasystems applications and other enterprise software into the mainframe environment. Monitor system health, perform troubleshooting, and optimize performance using tools such as VMware, Linux, UNIX, and Windows platforms. Implement security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, DNS management, and information security best practices to safeguard data assets. Automate routine tasks through scripting languages like Bash, Shell Scripting, Python, and PowerShell to improve efficiency. Support DevOps practices by configuring CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git, and Docker/Kubernetes for continuous deployment of applications. Maintain comprehensive documentation of system design, configurations, and operational procedures aligned with SDLC standards. Conduct regular system upgrades, patching, and backups to ensure compliance with industry standards and disaster recovery readiness. Skills Extensive experience with z/OS mainframe environments including system programming and system administration. Proficiency in RAID controller management, storage solutions, and virtualization technologies such as VMware and ESXi. Strong understanding of solution architecture principles within service-oriented architecture (SOA) frameworks. Knowledge of Pegasystems platform integration for business process management solutions. Expertise in operating systems including Linux, UNIX (AIX), Windows Server environments; familiarity with operating system internals is essential. Hands-on experience with database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server; proficiency in
SQL/T-SQL/PL/SQL
scripting is required. Familiarity with computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols like
DHCP, DNS
; experience configuring load balancing solutions is a plus. Ability to implement security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, RESTful APIs security practices; understanding of information security policies is critical. Skilled in scripting languages (Bash shell scripting), automation tools (Jenkins), version control (Git), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. Knowledge of microservices architecture principles combined with experience in SDLC methodologies including Agile practices for efficient project delivery.
