Responsibilities Develop and write CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machines based on engineering drawings and specifications. Responsible for programming of mechanical part consistent with the quality requirements established by drawings and fabrication/inspection plans. Select cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates; write instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine. Analyze and evaluate computer test-runs and prove-outs to determine if specifications are met; determine procedural and programming logic to improve proficiency and accuracy of CNC program. Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality control to ensure accurate and timely production. Qualifications Preferred Education /
Experience:
Associate's Degree in related discipline and/or equivalent 5+ years of related discipline; or A combination of education and experience equivalent to above Preferred Knowledge /
Ability:
Strong working knowledge of comprehensive 3D CAD systems, such as Mastercam or NX, including 3D modeling and analysis of geometry Solid knowledge of manufacturing operations Strong knowledge of a variety of CNC machines and controllers Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, and proportions to practical situations.
