In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing robotic welding programs to ensure precise, efficient, and high-quality production. Your expertise in robot programming and mechanical systems will drive continuous improvement in our automated welding processes, supporting lean manufacturing principles and maintaining compliance with industry standards such as CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices). Duties Develop and modify robotic welding programs using Fanuc robots and other robotic systems to meet production specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues, performing root cause analysis to minimize downtime and improve process reliability. Collaborate with mechanical engineers and tooling specialists to optimize welding fixtures, schematics, and blueprint reading for efficient robot operation. Conduct regular maintenance checks on robotic systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), vision inspection systems, and distributed control systems to ensure optimal performance. Implement lean manufacturing techniques by analyzing workflows, reducing waste, and enhancing automation efficiency. Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks for designing tooling setups, fixtures, or modifications needed for robotic welding applications. Support quality assurance efforts by integrating vision inspection systems and ensuring adherence to industry standards such as CGMP. Requirements Proven experience programming Fanuc robots or similar robotic systems in a manufacturing environment. Welding certificate, technical degree, or equivalent
- Experience with robotic weld cell operation
- Robotic weld programming experience (ABB preferred)
- AutoCAD/Inventor/3D CAD experience a plus
- Experience with robotic and/or automated equipment programming
- Familiarity with PLC programming (ABB Preferred).
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, forming, cut-to-length, and/or press brake operation.
AutoCAD/Inventor/3D CAD experience a plus Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings. Proficiency in robot programming languages, with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes involving machining and tooling. Familiarity with PLCs, distributed control systems, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and vision inspection systems. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot issues effectively. Ability to interpret schematics and blueprint reading for complex welding setups.
