  • The lab of Prof.
Zhihao Jia in the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work at the intersection of computer systems, programming languages, and machine learning. The main research focus in Prof. Jia's Lab is developing software systems and PL techniques to improve the performance, efficiency, and scalability of ML applications on modern hardware platforms. The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to focus on co-leading the development of systems and programming languages for building and serving LLM-powered agent workflows. The postdoc will also be affiliated with the Catalyst group ( https://catalyst.cs.cmu.edu/ ) and get opportunities to work on other core projects of the lab based on the specific research interests of the applicants. The expected start date is flexible and ideally after May of 2026.
  • Qualifications
  • PhD in Computer Science or related field required. Strong publication track record. Strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities; and communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary environment.
