JOB SUMMARY
Perform technical work of considerable difficulty supervising and participating in the coordination, planning, design, installation, and maintenance of information technology solutions including computers, security, networking, processes, and facilities.
TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Perform engineering studies involving the various components of information technology systems. Analyze user requirements and design and implement solutions regarding security, integrity, reliability, and functionality of the IT solution. Interact with co-workers and vendors to obtain and disseminate information. Advise on projects and coordinate activities. Train and provide technical support to department staff members and end users on hardware and software. Research, evaluate, recommend, install, maintain, and upgrade information technology solutions to ensure the desired performance. Perform troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose, and resolve advanced IT problems. Respond to the needs and questions of users concerning their access to IT. Maintain standards for installation and repair work with regard to the quality of materials, workmanship, and safety precautions exercised throughout the operation. Conduct surveys and feasibility studies. Prepare specifications and operational procedures of solutions and select, install, test, and accept components. Test, implement, and maintain integration hardware and software between operating systems. Read, interpret and apply the content of technical publications and manuals. To promote and adhere to the workplace values of accountability, commitment, and teamwork to help enrich lives beyond expectation. Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information. Perform other related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Three (3) years of experience administering IT infrastructure systems. Terminal Operator Certification for access to Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS). Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.
Preferred Qualifications :
Arizona residents must have an Arizona Driver's License upon hire; newly established Arizona Residents must have one within 30 days of hire. Knowledge of managing Cisco Switches, Routers, Wireless Controllers and Firewalls. May be required to obtain additional specific skills training and technical certifications.
Special Requirements:
Successfully complete a thorough background investigation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of project management principles, tools and techniques. Knowledge of Pinal County hardware, software, and infrastructure, including maintenance and integration issues. Knowledge of principles of IT infrastructure system development and systems integration in a public sector environment. Knowledge of database systems integration, system access, security guidelines, and quality assurance procedures. Skill in analyzing IT project issues, evaluating alternatives, and recommending methods, procedures, and techniques for resolution of complex operational issues. Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands and effectively distributing workload. Ability to work independently in a technical environment with interlinked and changing priorities. Ability to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close IT projects.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is medium and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The work also requires the ability to climb, crawl, crouch, finger, feel, grasp, handle, reach, perform repetitive motion, kneel, lift, pull, push, speak, hear, stand, stoop, walk, operate motor vehicles, and demonstrate visual and mental acuity.
