Job Description
Overview Abacus Technology is seeking a Computer Technician to provide technical support for a variety of IT issues for the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) at Fort Huachuca. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities Perform Tier 1-3 deskside incident resolution of workstations, printers and peripheral devices. Managing Active Directory, approve systems for reimage/wipe and move to correct system active OU or system deleted OU. Ensure proper computer system setup/operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. Maintain knowledge of diagnostic and help desk request tracking tools, as well as remote and in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level. Assist with network hardware, servers and software installation, troubleshooting and support. Assist with asset management and inventory of IT assets. Assist with security vulnerability remediation. Return failed equipment to good working order and demonstrate the equipment to the user. Work as a team member in the installation, configuration, repair, and maintenance of computer equipment, peripherals, and applications. Perform repairs and conduct operational checks and preventive maintenance service on computer systems, related systems, and office equipment. Work with System Administrators to maintain the network. Qualifications 7+ years experience in a technical support role. HS diploma or GED. Must hold one of the following certifications: A+, Network+, and/or Security+. Microsoft certification desired. A college degree may reduce the years of experience required. Experience installing, configuring, repairing, and maintaining software, hardware, configurations, and peripherals. Able to isolate equipment/system/software malfunctions and restore failed equipment to good working order. Experience conducting operational checks and replacing defective parts and assemblies. Knowledge of networking concepts such as cable making/repair, IP address schema, and LAN implementation and configuration. Familiarity with video teleconferencing systems. Proficient with anti-virus software and configuration. Solid customer service skills, including good communication and the ability to demonstrate professionalism. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI Access (TS/SCI).
