QCi products are designed to operate at room temperature and low power at an affordable cost. The Company's portfolio of core technology and products offer unique capabilities in the areas of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, cyber security as well as remote sensing applications. Position Description QCi is seeking an experienced security engineer to design, implement, configure and monitor security tools, technologies and services that protect systems and data from unauthorized access. You engineer will architect, implement, and manage security controls, tooling, and operational processes designed to identify threats, reduce risk, strengthen cyber hygiene, and support compliance across multiple environments. You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, operations, and leadership teams to help standardize security practices and improve visibility across the organization. Duties and Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain security architectures, controls, and tooling across systems, endpoints, networks, and applications. Monitor and respond to threats- Continuously watch for suspicious activity and respond to incidents in real time. Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, remediation planning, and root cause investigations. Develop security policies and procedures
- Establish best practices, standards, and compliance guidelines. Manage access controls and identity systems
- Ensure proper authentication, authorization, and least-privilege access. Collaborate with development and IT teams
- Integrate security into software development (DevSecOps) and infrastructure.
CMMC, NIST
800-171, SOC, andISO 27001.
Required Skills and Experience 3+ years of experience as a Security Engineer in environments requiring broad technical exposure and adaptability. In-depth knowledge and hands on experience with securing IT Infrastructures. Experience supporting security and compliance frameworks such asNIST, SOC, ISO
27001, and ideally CMMC orNIST 800-171.
Experience implementing, configuring, managing, and documenting security tools and controls. Ability to clearly communicate technical risks, remediation strategies, and security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with remediating threats and vulnerabilities, RCA and reporting. Advanced knowledge of threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and remediation practices. Understanding of network, endpoint, system, and web application security concepts. Experience working across multiple disciplines, teams, or environments instead of within a narrowly siloed function. Familiarity with SIEM platforms, endpoint protection technologies, identity management systems, and security monitoring tools. Experience with scripting, automation, or process improvement initiatives is helpful. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience as security engineer In depth knowledge ofNIST 800-171
security controls and associated processes, architectures and tooling support. Experience working within startup, SaaS, advanced technology, defense, or fast-changing environments where security teams operate across multiple disciplines. Experience supporting incident response exercises, operational security maturity initiatives, or consolidating security practices across multiple environments is highly valued.
