A Little More About What You Will be Doing The Imaging Systems Administrator is a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Department who is responsible for supporting imaging operations, workflow, and development. Imaging engages all aspects of the digital imaging workflows including image acquisition and processing, image distribution and storage, image visualization and interpretation, reporting, and communications. The Imaging Systems Administrator must have a solid background in both imaging technology and information systems, since this position often bridges Imaging with other clinical areas and Enterprise Imaging Information Systems (EIS). This individual may be responsible for providing support to any of the following areas associated with imaging:
PACS, RIS, DICOM
integration and validation, PACS quality control and assurance, and digital imaging operations. The Imaging Systems Administrator interacts with all sections of the imaging department, providing operational support and technical guidance. The Imaging Systems Administrator must possess good interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and interact with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Supports Imaging operations, workflows, and development. Performs Imaging study reconciliation on
PACS, PACS
Viewer, VNA, and broker. Performs initial troubleshooting and problem escalation of issues associated with PACS, RIS, or other imaging information systems. As appropriate, work with vendor, EIS, or other support until issue is resolved. Performs imaging modality integration with PACS and/or RIS including assessment of needs, configuration and validation. Supports radiologists and reading room environment including application support, display protocols, worklist filters, diagnostic workstation, reporting systems, and peripheral device support. Assists with PACS Quality Control and Assurance, as well as any ongoing PACS QI projects. Provides input and recommendations on development of imaging informatics workflow policies and procedures. Assists with the administration of medical imaging regulations and standards, such as HIPAA and DICOM. Performs administrative duties associated with routine maintenance and updates to CSLink and Cadence, in accordance with assigned privileges and designated workflow. Assists EIS with issues concerning the web based viewing of Imaging reports and images throughout Cedars and its community. Retrieves and secures release of patient imaging records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, accreditation, and departmental policies. Performs planning, testing, training and validation during systems change management (e.g. CS-Link). Assess impact of change management on downstream clinical systems including RIS, PACS and imaging modalities. Qualifications Job qualifications Education High School Diploma/GED required Bachelor's Degree BS degree in Computer Science, Imaging Technology or equivalent preferred Work Experience 3 years Experience in imaging technology required 3 years Experience as an Imaging Systems Administrator preferred 3 years Extensive experience in DICOM modality integration and validation preferred Licenses and Certifications Imaging CA Radiologic Tech license (California Department of Health -Radiologic Health Branch X-RayPermit with Digital Certification and at least one other specialty) required
