Summary The Senior Data Engineer will help design, build, and maintain the data environment powering Cache Creek Casino Resort analytics and business intelligence capabilities. This role ensures that operations leaders and analysts have access to clean, reliable, and timely data. The Senior Data Engineer is highly technical, detail-oriented, and passionate about building sustainable data solutions that directly support business growth and profitability. This role will serve as a critical partner to the analytics team, helping automate data pipelines, optimize reporting processes, and enable advanced analytics and predictive modeling. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing data from gaming, hotel, marketing, and point of sale systems. Ensure data quality, consistency, and availability across multiple source systems. Automate recurring reporting and data preparation tasks to increase efficiency. Work with analytics team members to identify and eliminate data workflow bottlenecks. Implement monitoring processes to ensure system reliability and data accuracy. Partner closely with Analytics leaders to understand business needs and translate them into data requirements. Support the development of dashboards, models, and advanced analysis through optimized data sets. Serve as a technical expert on data structure, warehouse performance, and integration opportunities. Prioritize projects based on client needs and biggest potential impacts. Contribute to and enforce data governance policies, ensuring proper access controls and compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintain data documentation, dictionaries, and metadata for consistency across teams; educate team members on data nuances to avoid inaccurate analyses. Ensure security best practices are followed in all data handling and storage processes. Supervisory Responsibilities This role does not have direct reports. The team member will have overall responsibility for the Data Engineering function for the property. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred) with a minimum of 5 years of job related experience in data engineering. Excellent collaboration skills; ability to translate business/analytics needs into scalable technical solutions. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills Understanding of BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and how to structure data to optimize performance, strong proficiency in SQL and data warehousing technologies (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar); proficiency in Python or other scripting languages, and experience with ETL tools (Informatica, dbt, Airflow, or equivalent).
