Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer Gemological Institute of America, Inc. (GIA) seeks a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer in Carlsbad, CA.
Job duties:
Own and contribute to an end-to-end agile DevOps-based software development life cycle with end-to-end automation in mind (Tools & Processes). Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to support rapid software delivery and deployments. Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure and highly available public cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure and Oracle cloud. Support the agile software development process among cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product delivery. Collaborate with the architecture team to build Cloud patterns with High Availability, scalability, security, monitoring, and configuration of cloud platform services. Create and manage provisioning automation via Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, etc. Work with development teams across multiple organizations to drive automation, establish software standards, service modularity, testing standards, and deployment/management of microservices. Develop the automation tools for deployment, patch updates, and disaster recovery. Support process for Kubernetes and Docker creation pipelines. Perform incident/alert troubleshooting, problem analysis and provide high quality solutions to technical issues. Lead the major incident response, root cause analysis, and preventative improvement to the pipelines and the infrastructure. Provide On-call support in cases of issues on production environment. Mentor junior DevOps engineers and write effective documents to contribute to the DevOps practice. Support and improve our tools, infrastructure, and processes that support rapid and reliable delivery of high-quality software to our production service. Assist development in troubleshooting system and software issues in all environments. This job involves the opportunity to work remotely from a home office two days per week, from the San Diego, CA MSA.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus 5 years of progressive post-bachelor's experience in the job offered or a related position. Must also possess all of the following:
- 5 years of experience with designing and implementing end-to-end automation for enterprise products on a cloud platform.
- 5 years of experience working with major cloud providers such as AWS or GCP.
- 5 years of experience utilizing Agile/Scrum methodologies, Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools.
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Cloudformation.
Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.

$184,974.00;
