Job Description

Applications Specialist Function:
Global Security Operations — Security Systems & Technology Reports to: Manager, Security Applications Role Overview The Applications Specialist is the senior technical lead for security applications supporting new builds, expansions, and relocations from Security Go Live (SGL) through First Day of Business (FDOB).
This role owns end-to-end delivery:
leading the team's day-to-day activities, driving projects to successful completion, defining core security policies and documentation procedures, and serving as the escalation point for complex access control, video management, intercom, and key management issues across a mid-to-large enterprise environment. Alongside deep hands-on technical ownership, this role carries people-leadership, project management, and cross-functional stakeholder accountability. Core Responsibilities Leadership & Delivery Ownership
  • Lead the team's day-to-day activities and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Document and execute system changes.
  • Effectively prioritize workload, tasks, and projects for oneself and for the team.
  • Learn subject matter quickly and immediately apply that knowledge to implement a responsible plan or decision.
  • Support the business outside of regular business hours when required. Client, Policy & Vendor Management
  • Define core security policies and documentation procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions in partnership with project management.
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships; manage client expectations effectively.
  • Interface with vendors, including opening work orders for hardware malfunctions.
  • Partner with other teams on system outages and planned maintenance. Technical Delivery & Systems Support
  • Support programming, commissioning, and driving new build projects to SGL and FDOB.
  • Coordinate with partner teams to obtain network and Archibus information.
  • Provide system support to Integrators/LSPs in the field across Access Control, Video Management Systems, Intercoms, and Key Management.
  • Project-manage Integrator/LSP field resources, coordinating testing and commissioning against an aggressive build schedule.
  • Communicate across technology partners, Project Leads, and external Integrator field teams.
  • Enforce and follow documented installation standards and New Builds processes — DHCP reservations, MAC whitelisting, load sheets, and related documentation.
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting as it relates to security systems and technology.
  • Maintain and patch applications; work with network administration and hardware technicians.
  • Provide occasional PC/Mac hardware and software support to end users via phone or email.
  • Apply field troubleshooting techniques for low-voltage systems (ground faults, shorts, multimeter and other test equipment). Qualifications Experience
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Security Systems Technology (Intercoms, Key Management, Integrator/LSP resources, etc.).
  • 2+ years of experience as a Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
  • Direct project management experience and demonstrated team leadership skill sets.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a mid-to-large enterprise environment (20+ sites).
  • Troubleshooting of security devices and basic installation understanding of security technology.
  • Completed technical training or equivalent field experience. Skills

  • Proficient with Software House CCure 9000, Genetec, and physical security hardware (access control panels, IP cameras, sensors, electric locks, and network-based equipment).
  • Proficient in the process for Final Test and Acceptance of security systems and handover.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Software House/CCure supported hardware (iStar panels, REX, card readers, locks, door contacts) and Commend Intercom Systems.
  • Understanding of how security hardware interacts with network/IP.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Windows (most security applications are Windows-dependent).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (Windows, Mac) and Microsoft Office Suite. Task Management & Administration
  • Accountable for proper administration of assigned tasks, including documentation, proper closure with root cause analysis, incident profiling, tagging, and appropriate escalation. Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Engineering, or Business, and/or 5+ years of relevant work experience in the field. Program-Specific Requirements
Access Control Software:
Software House CCure 9000 or equivalent certification in access control and video systems.
    Video Management Systems:
    Genetec.
      Physical Security Hardware:
      demonstrated proficiency.
