Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an IT Support Specialist for a temporary onsite contract opportunity in Fremont, CA . This role is ideal for an early-career IT professional with hands-on desktop support experience who enjoys solving technical issues, supporting end users, and keeping business operations running smoothly. The IT Support Specialist will provide day-to-day technical support for hardware, software, peripherals, user access, and enterprise systems. - Respond to IT support requests through a ticketing queue and provide timely resolution for hardware, software, systems, and access-related issues.
- Install and configure software, drivers, operating systems, printers, scanners, multifunction copiers, and other end-user devices.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across desktops, peripherals, company systems, and remote support tools with limited guidance.
- Manage user accounts and system access under supervision while following established IT procedures.
- Maintain accurate ticket documentation, equipment logs, software inventory, and procedural records.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external service providers to resolve recurring issues and support hardware repairs. Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $32 to $40 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.- Work arrangement: Onsite in Fremont, CA.
- Target start date: ASAP.
Duration:
Through the week of October 20 at minimum, with the possibility of extension based on ongoing need and fit. Required Qualifications and Skills- Provide daily desktop support for hardware, software, peripherals, user access, and company systems.
- Work independently through standard IT support tickets while collaborating with existing IT staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation, equipment inventory, and user support records.
- Troubleshoot recurring technical issues and help identify practical solutions that reduce repeat problems.
- Associate degree in an IT-related field, CompTIA ITF+, or CompTIA A+ certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on IT support experience required, with 1 to 2 years preferred.
- Comfortable installing software, drivers, operating systems, and performing routine repairs.
- Experience supporting peripherals such as printers, multifunction copiers, handheld scanners, and similar devices.
- Working knowledge of enterprise systems, remote support tools, user account management, and access provisioning.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams, and ticketing platforms.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with users at varying technical levels.
- Ability to handle frustrated users calmly, manage multiple requests, and keep stakeholders informed of progress or delays.
- Strong documentation habits, including ticket updates, inventory tracking, user guides, and procedural documentation.
- Growth mindset with a willingness to learn new systems, tools, and troubleshooting methods. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with
SAP B1, SQL
tools, software licensing, or basic network troubleshooting.- Prior experience supporting both onsite and remote users.
- Experience collaborating with departments to identify recurring IT issues and improve support responsiveness.
- Ability to contribute to user guides, knowledge base articles, and process improvements.
