June 1, 2026 - Nov. 30, 2026 BASICFUNCTION
This position is a member of the IT Department within the District Office and operates under the direct supervision of the IT management. The Technology Specialist I is based centrally in the IT Dept. offices, and travels to the district campuses as directed by their supervisor. The Technology Specialist I provides technical support with Tier I district technology with students, staff, parents/guardians, and guests of the district. This is a 12-month position with a full project load during summer months.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Maintain to the highest working condition all Tier I district technology, such as district-owned user devices and peripherals. Promote the safe and proper use of equipment by students and staff Respond to reports of equipment malfunction and software problems; troubleshoot, test, adjust and repair hardware; refer complex issues to co-workers or to IT supervisor Within the IT ticketing system, provide detailed updates on work performed, and communicate status updates clearly with the end-users. Address or escalate all assigned tickets in a timely manner; request any necessary clarification from the end-users and communicate expectations to them for resolution of the issue Provide excellent customer service to all staff, students, parents/guardians and guests of the district Model, monitor and direct the ethical use of hardware and software Support students with their district-provided accounts and passwords. Check out 1:1 devices to students, and facilitate device returns at the end of the school year Engage in self-paced learning, online research, newsletter subscriptions, and knowledge-sharing amongst the IT staff to maintain current knowledge of technological advances in the computer field Research and recommend solutions to issues with computer equipment; research and identify software issues Maintain a detailed inventory of technology assets and a maintenance upgrade schedule for user-facing hardware devices Perform software installations, upgrades, and removals. Re-image computers as necessary Dispose of obsolete hardware according to district policy, after ensuring that all district data has been erased from the systems Collaborate with other IT staff on projects across all campuses. Deliver and pick-up equipment as neededDESIRABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma (or equivalency) Either two years of college level coursework in computer science (or related field) plus two years experience providing enterprise IT support, OR four years experience providing enterprise IT support. One or more IT technical certifications from recognized technology companies, such as Cisco, CompTIA, Google, Microsoft, etc.REQUIREMENTS
