We supply industrial finishing systems and more. We're looking for an Electrical Engineer II / Technical Support candidate who shares our commitment to excellence and can lead a small technical team. What You'll Do Leadership & Staff Management Supervise, mentor, and develop electrical engineering and technical support staff Assign and prioritize workload across the team; manage schedules and coverage Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and support hiring/onboarding of team members Coordinate cross-functionally with Design, Process Engineering, Sales, and Production to align staff capacity with project commitments Interface directly with customer stakeholders to ensure project deliverables and technical requirements are met on schedule Technical & Engineering Design electrical control systems: develop schematics, component layout drawings (AutoCAD), and bills of materials; verify control systems after assembly Write and maintain PLC/HMI programming code for control system automation Perform electrical load calculations, including maximum amperage capacity, maximum wattage, short-circuit load calculations, and load protection Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications through design and research to confirm system and component capabilities, properties, and compatibility Develop electrical systems by evaluating customer requirements and researching assembly methods and materials beyond standard production Ensure product quality through proper testing of finished products and system capabilities Prepare product reports: collect, analyze, and summarize data and trends; identify alternative componentry Support the dealer network and their technical staff by answering engineering questions and assisting with troubleshooting by phone and electronic means Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, national code requirements, and OSHA standards Maintain the component database in the ERP system (entering data, editing bills of materials) Ensure completed projects meet electrical specifications and are properly transferred to dealer network and technical staff Stay current on professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional networks/societies What You Bring Working knowledge of electrical control systems (PLC), especially Allen Bradley Proficiency writing PLC/HMI code (Allen Bradley) for automation of control systems Ability to perform electrical load calculations and apply current electrical standards and codes Strong computer skills: AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Outlook, ERP systems Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and project management skills Prior experience leading or supervising a technical team Proven ability to manage customer expectations and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders Experience Required 3+ years PLC programming software 3+ years drawing schematics 3+ years electrical systems 1+ years supervising or leading a team (preferred) Preferred Willingness to travel (10%) Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance 401(k) with company match Paid vacation, sick pay, and 7 paid holidays Retirement plan Discretionary bonuses
