Description:
We are seeking a Customer Support Engineer to support laboratory operations within a dynamic R D environment. This role functions as a key liaison between laboratory personnel, equipment vendors, and service providers to ensure laboratory assets remain compliant, operational, and properly maintained. The ideal candidate combines strong organizational skills with hands-on technical ability and thrives in a fast-paced laboratory setting where responsibilities shift between administrative coordination and hands-on technical support. Key Areas of Specialization Laboratory Equipment Maintenance, Calibration & Troubleshooting Laboratory Operations, Asset & Vendor Management Documentation, Compliance & Systems Administration Key Responsibilities Laboratory Operations & Equipment Support Support daily operations within a customer laboratory environment Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules, calibration activities, and repair work for laboratory equipment Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with maintenance and repair tasks Manage laboratory asset tracking and equipment records Serve as a liaison between laboratory staff, engineers, and external service vendors Monitor equipment status and ensure timely completion of service activities Vendor & Service Coordination Schedule and coordinate onsite vendor visits and service activities Track maintenance, calibration, and repair work performed by third parties Ensure vendors meet required timelines and documentation standards Build and maintain strong working relationships with service providers and laboratory stakeholders Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate records within internal systems and databases Update equipment documentation, service histories, and maintenance logs Support regulatory compliance and asset management initiatives Complete required administrative tasks, reporting, and system updates Ensure documentation is accurate, organized, and audit-ready Work Environment This role combines office-based administrative responsibilities with hands-on laboratory work: ~60% Documentation, scheduling, system updates, and administrative coordination ~40% Hands-on lab support including troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and asset management Qualifications Required Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Information Technology, or related technical field 2-4 years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, facilities, or technical support environment Valid driver's license with ability to travel locally as needed Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Experience working in a laboratory or R D environment Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, or service providers Background in equipment maintenance, calibration, or asset management systems Exposure to manufacturing operations, plant operations, facilities maintenance, or MEP environments with lab exposure Experience with compliance-driven environments and documentation systems Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications Physical Requirements Ability to work in a laboratory environment Occasional ladder use up to 6 feet Ability to lift, move, and transport equipment and materials as needed Regular standing, walking, bending, and hands-on equipment interaction Why This Role?
