Job Description

About the Role As a Technical Documentation Specialist, you will serve as the bridge between engineering design and production execution. You will ensure that all manufacturing workflows are clearly defined, compliant, and optimized to drive operational excellence and product quality. Responsibilities Develop and maintain comprehensive manufacturing travelers and standardized work instructions to ensure consistent production outcomes. Manage rigorous version control systems to guarantee that the shop floor always utilizes the most current engineering specifications. Perform regular audits of active work orders to verify data integrity and adherence to established manufacturing sequences. Facilitate seamless communication between engineering teams and production staff to resolve technical discrepancies in real-time. Generate performance metrics and status reports to provide leadership with actionable insights into documentation efficiency. Drive continuous improvement by simplifying complex processes and eliminating redundant steps in the production workflow. Support quality assurance initiatives by compiling accurate data packages and verifying compliance with operational standards. Qualifications Required Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience within a technical manufacturing or industrial production environment. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering schematics. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly for document formatting and data tracking. Exceptional attention to detail with a proven track record of maintaining high-accuracy documentation. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. U.S. Citizenship required. Preferred Skills Direct experience managing shop travelers, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), or Quality Management Systems. Background in lean manufacturing principles or process optimization methodologies. Prior experience in fabrication, welding, or high-precision industrial assembly environments.
