Job Description
E/PC Technician
Trauma, Stroke, STEMI patient. Set up rapid infuser, Baer Hugger, surgical trays, pleurovac, Lifepack, cardiac monitoring, etc. 4. Initiates protocol testing, including placing the order and completing the required documentation. 5. Communicates processes to patients and collects specimens from patients for subsequent analysis, in accordance with approved policies and procedures while observing universal precautions. This includes but is not limited to, blood (venipuncture), urine collection, samples requiring special handling, cultures etc. 6. Performs hourly rounding and maintains regular communications with patients and their family. Acts as a conduit for communication with the care team. 7. Achieves the organization's established performance expectations regarding quality service, teamwork, and staff development. Participates in performance improvement activities as needed. 8. Transports patients to testing and in-patient units. 9. Completes mandatory continuing education. 10. Attends staff meetings. 11. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Full-time Description Summary:
Assists the Emergency Department team by providing quality patient care, working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse.Responsibilities:
1. Assists in the preparation of the clinical area, ensuring that the area is clean per infection control standards and adequate supplies and linens are in place. 2. Ensures the patient and the treatment room is properly prepared and set up for the exam. This includes assisting patients into gowns, securing belongings and attaching to necessary monitoring devices and securing the necessary supplies or cart. 3. Provides specific duties as related to the complex, critical care patient to include:Trauma, Stroke, STEMI patient. Education:
HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT
Other Information:
Required:
At least 2 years on-the-job experience and holds either a Medcial Assistant or EMT certification, or over 5 years on-the-job experience in the Emergency Department. Must maintain skills necessary such as Basic Life Support (BLS), and keep competencies current.Minimum Experience:
