Serves as the principle advisor to the CIO and the Ste on the lest industry and technological projections as they pertain to Cyber Security / Informion Assurance for the network enclave infrastructure. Develops policies for organizion deployed throughout the headquarters. Must anticipe the effects of new emerging technology and develop policies to control it to prevent security violions. Duties include oversight of the Army IT Training Program of Record and accredition of all systems in-accordance-with (IAW) with all command, Army, and DoD security directives, policies and procedures. (30%) 2. Directs, manages, and monitors a system of internal controls th ensure effective and approprie use of resources. A. Manage and lead the implemention of the RMF. Maintain and report Informion Systems (IS) and Plform IT (PIT) systems assessment and authorizion stus and issues in accordance with DoD Component guidance. Provide direction to the ISSO in accordance with DoD, Army and NGB directives. Coordine with the organizion's cyber security service provider to ensure issues affecting the organizion's overall security are addressed appropriely. Maintain a repository for all organizional or system-level Cybersecurity-reled documention. Ensure th ISSOs are appointed in writing and provide oversight to ensure they are following established Cybersecurity policies and procedures. B. Monitor compliance with cybersecurity policy, as approprie, and review the results of such monitoring. Certify th Cybersecurity inspections, tests, and reviews are synchronized and coordined with affected parties and organizions. Valide implemention of IS security measures and procedures including reporting incidents to the AO and approprie reporting chains, and coordining system-level responses to unauthorized disclosures in accordance with DoD, Army, and NGB guidelines. Ensure handling of possible or actual da spills of classified informion resident in ISs, are conducted in accordance with applicable guidelines. C. Act as the primary cybersecurity technical advisor to the AODR for DoD IS and PIT systems under their purview. (30%) 3. Collabores with senior leadership within the Ste to negotie, decide on, or coordine work-reled changes affecting operions. Advises senior leadership with broader and higher responsibilities on problems involving the relionship of the work of the cybersecurity teams to broader programs, and its impact on IT Services. Serves as a technical advisor to the CIO. Participes as a member and advisor on special committees and special projects designed to study methods to enhance the use of IT throughout the Command. Participes in developing stregic plans for enhancement of the system environment, developing functional and technical requirements for acquisitions, conducting cost-benefit analyses, feasibility studies, and reled activities. Maintains liaison with manufacturers and vendors, professional organizions, and counterparts other commands/installions and services regarding available products and ste-of-the-art technologies and advancements. Develops stregies to incorpore into the organizion's inventory such technologies and advancements found to be compible with user requirements, taking into considerion any affect these technologies and techniques will have on existing architecture and infrastructure. Participes in plans for acquisition and implemention of new equipment, including development of contract documention. . (25%) 4. Provides executive leadership, guidance, and direction to ensure acquisition, development, and retention of a professional, highly capable workforce to accomplish assigned missions. Provides supervision in the daily operions for security activities for the enclave. Establishes performance standards and evalues employee performance. Reviews and recommends approval of, candides for promotions and recognition.
Reviews and approves:
work plans to be accomplished by subordines; priorities and schedules for completion of work; sets broad objectives; monitors subordine employees' performance in providing IT services; reviews accomplishments; and takes approprie action of correction when deficiencies are noted. Gives advice, counsels, or instructs individual employees, on both work and administrive mters. Develops and evalues performance standards; recommends and approves awards; hears and resolves group employee grievances or serious employee complaints. Reviews and makes decisions on serious disciplinary actions involving employees and makes decisions on work problems presented by subordines. Inities recognition and disciplinary actions for personnel. Identifies and arranges for approprie training and development opportunities. (15%) Performs other duties as assigned.
