UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an intermediate-level Training Specialist to join IT Training in Academic Technology, a unit withinUFIT. UF
Information Technology (UFIT) enables teaching, learning, research, and service on campus and across the region with state-of-the-art enterprise IT systems, including SEC and SUS universities, and the opportunity to teach using HiPerGator. The IT Training Specialist for Artificial Intelligence is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and assessing training programs that enable university employees to effectively utilize AI technologies to enhance productivity, improve efficiency, and drive innovation. This position plays a critical role in advancing AI literacy across the institution by identifying practical use cases, introducing emerging AI tools including low-code and no-code AI applications, creating engaging learning materials, and promoting best practices for responsible AI use. Working closely with colleges, departments, technology teams, and organizational leaders, the IT Training Specialist will help bridge the gap between emerging technologies and real-world application. The ideal candidate combines strong instructional and communication skills with a passion for technology, continuous learning, and organizational transformation. Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are: Design, develop, and deliver engaging AI-focused training programs, workshops, webinars, and learning resources for employees across the university. Introduce employees to emerging AI tools and technologies, demonstrating practical applications that enhance workplace effectiveness and productivity. Collaborate with technology teams and business stakeholders to align training initiatives with organizational priorities and strategic objectives. Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, participant feedback, and performance metrics, continuously improving learning programs to maximize impact. The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills: Application/Programming experience Teaching and/or training certification Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work collegially and interact effectively with all constituencies.
