The role is dedicated to supporting the north west territory, so ideal candidate will reside in the territory to support field coverage across nearby states including but not limited to WA, OR and NV. Job Summary Acuity Brands Lighting is seeking a highly skilled and driven professional individual to join our team as a Regional Field Support Technician. This role requires a strong foundation in both mechanical and electrical systems and a demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional technical support and customer service.

Field Support Technician will be responsible for performing on-site system startups, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and customer training for Acuity's advanced lighting and control systems. This position plays a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring the optimal performance of our systems in the field. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with internal Engineering Teams and Focus Factories to identify and communicate opportunities for continuous product and process improvement, based on insights gained during site visits. How will you contribute?
  • Managing project timelines while interfacing with customers and cross-functional teams throughout Acuity Brands
  • Owning and delivering customer solutions, and helping to build customer loyalty
  • Supporting lean activities and seeking continuous improvements with our Production FacilitiesKey Responsibilities Perform on-site service visits in accordance with Acuity Brands' policies and procedures Diagnose, troubleshoot, program, and repair lighting and control systems Provide technical support to both internal teams and external customers Act as a subject matter expert during customer engagements and technical escalations Prepare detailed field reports following service calls Conduct on-site training sessions for customers on system operation and maintenance Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to identify opportunities for product and process improvements Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED equivalent Minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience in a field service role with electrical and mechanical responsibilities Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
frequently Capable of working at heights up to 100 feet using ladders or lift equipment Valid U.S. driver's license and passport required Experience troubleshooting and commissioning switchgear, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), or VFD-driven systems Demonstrated experience working in industrial or commercial power distribution environments Strong aptitude in electrical systems, control technologies, and schematic interpretation Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems. Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams Comfortable standing, walking, stooping, or kneeling for extended periods Willingness to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in challenging conditions Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
Preferred Requirements:
Ideal to have a Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience working with high-voltage or medium-voltage systems (e.g., 277/480V, 3-phase power) Degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency is a plus for international support Travel Requirements Frequent travel required, up to 85%, including overnight stays Flexibility in working hours to accommodate customer schedules and travel requirements #LI-AP2 We value diversity and are an equal opportunity employer.
