Description:

Desktop Support Technician We are looking for an IT Support Technician to support computer systems within an enterprise engineering and lab environment. This is a hands-on support role working with a mix of current and legacy technology, including Windows and Linux-based systems. Responsibilities Provide hands-on IT support for computers, workstations, and related hardware Troubleshoot hardware, software, and operating system issues Support Windows-based systems as well as Linux/Unix environments Work directly with end users to diagnose and resolve technical issues Install, configure, troubleshoot, and replace computer hardware as needed Support IT systems used within engineering and lab environments Follow established security procedures, corporate policies, and government requirements Document issues and provide strong customer service throughout the support process Required Skills Candidates should have 1-2 years of IT support experience in a medium to large enterprise environment and experience with at least two of the following: Desktop / computer hardware support IT customer service or end-user support Windows operating systems Hardware and software troubleshooting Nice to Have Linux experience, particularly Red Hat or Ubuntu Experience supporting Solaris or other Unix environments Previous experience working in an engineering, lab, aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated environment Active or previous security clearance Ideal Background Good candidates may currently or previously have titles such as: Desktop Support Technician IT Support Technician Desktop Support Specialist PC Technician Help Desk Technician Field Support Technician End User Support Technician Computer Support Technician Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
