• John Deere Ottumwa Works This is an exceptional, long-term 2+ year contract opportunity paying up to $38/hr , including 1 Week of PTO .

Perfectly suited for entry-level engineers, this role places you at the heart of the Windrower Platform production line, where you will provide critical design support and continuous improvement (CI) solutions.

Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:

Up to $38/hr (W2).

Location:

100% Onsite in Ottumwa, IA.

Duration:

2+ Years.

Shift:

1st Shift (Must be willing to work flexible hours/occasional OT to support the line).

Benefits:

Core Responsibilities Production Line Support:

Provide immediate design support and troubleshooting for the Windrower Platform production line to ensure seamless operations.

Design Innovation:

Produce and evaluate design solutions focused on improving cost, quality, and performance using specialized engineering knowledge.

Technical Specifications:

Determine and define engineering specifications required to solve routine problems or execute specific CI projects.

Verification & Validation:

Analyze test plans for product verification and validation to ensure all design changes meet strict performance standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Coordinate with other functional engineers, supply management, and supplier personnel to implement robust design changes.

Required Skills & Experience Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or an equivalent technical field. (Entry-level candidates are highly encouraged to apply!).

Software Proficiency:

Hands-on experience using Creo or similar 3D modeling software.

Analytical Thinking:

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex engineering data.

Communication:

Proficient verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility:

Ability to adapt to the needs of the production line, including occasional overtime.
