Assessing and making improvements to the engineering drawing naming convention, location, organization and storage Development of manufacturing process procedures Development of operator training procedures Development of operator training aids Lead small engineering design projects and provide support to larger program projects Assist with manufacturing equipment setup and configuration Provide support for presentation of project status and
Responsibilities- Essential Functions:
Provides support to technical employees working in an organizational function related to the Intern's area of study. Assists with technical tasks and project support. Supports equipment set up and monitors tests and experiments. Observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports. Learns technical processes and procedures. Job shadows other more experienced professionals and or support staff. May also support the documentation & updates of procedures or work instructions. Handles basic issues and problems
Qualifications- Required Qualifications:
Required education and experience: Must be currently enrolled in related Technical courses or be within 6 months of graduation; No prior experience needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Oral and written communication skills. Attentiveness. Ability to understand and follow directions.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. This position is Safety-Sensitive.
Travel Requirements:
No or very little travel likely. Pay Range (USD) $17.50 / hr Pay Transparency Statement The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the range during the hiring process. Benefits Employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and basic life insurance as well as pre-tax spending accounts. Employees are also able to enroll in the company's 401k plan and are eligible for the Non-Contributory Retirement Contribution.
