IT Desktop Support Technician Location:
Columbus, Indiana (On-Site)
Job Summary:
We are supporting an opportunity for an experienced IT Desktop Support Technician to provide hands-on desktop support, technical coordination, and site-focused IT assistance across assigned locations. Our team is looking for a candidate who can serve as a dependable point of contact for IT issues, help resolve problems efficiently, and support ongoing technology initiatives with strong customer service and documentation skills.
Responsibilities:
Provide second-level support for desktops, laptops, hardware, software, and related peripherals across assigned sites. Own IT issues and concerns for the region, including escalation, follow-up, and root-cause support. Respond to phone and email inquiries, maintain detailed service records, and update knowledge base documentation. Support IT initiatives, hardware/software upgrades, inventory tracking, user training, and after-hours assistance as needed.
Required:
Minimum of 2 years of work-related experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas sector. Experience with PC, LAN, WAN, wireless, web-based solutions, and DOS-based applications. Ability to set up and manage mobile devices, including iOS, Androids, and air cards. Experience setting up HP LaserJet and Konica Minolta multifunction printers, and using ITSM software preferably BMC Remedy. Must be eligible to permanently work in the United States, and a high school diploma or GED is required for this temporary position with potential to convert to full time. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., travel up to 80%, maintain an excellent driving record, and use a reliable personal vehicle for reimbursed mileage.
