Job Title:
Helpdesk / Systems Administrator Position OverviewWe are seeking a technically skilled Helpdesk / Systems Administrator responsible for supporting end users while also maintaining core IT infrastructure. This role blends Tier 12 technical support with system administration responsibilities across workstations, servers, networking, and cloud services. The ideal candidate is comfortable troubleshooting complex issues, managing user environments, maintaining infrastructure reliability, and assisting with security and system improvements.
Core Responsibilities:
End User Support (Tier 12)Provide technical support via ticketing system, phone, or email for hardware, software, and network-related issuesTroubleshoot Windows workstations, application errors, authentication issues, and connectivity problemsDeploy and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devicesManage user lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and access changesDocument troubleshooting procedures and resolutions within our ticketing system Systems AdministrationAdminister Windows Server environmentsManage user accounts, security groups, and permissionsAssist in maintaining virtualization platforms (Hyper-V)Monitor server performance, uptime, and system healthAssist in performing system updates, patch management, and scheduled maintenance Cloud & Identity ManagementAdminister Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDriveManage Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) users, groups, and authentication policiesConfigure and support MFA (multi-factor authentication) and identity security policiesAssist with cloud-based device management NetworkingTroubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issuesSupport network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access pointsDiagnose network performance issues using standard networking toolsMaintain network documentation including IP addressing and topology Security & ComplianceMaintain endpoint protection and monitoring toolsSupport vulnerability remediation and patch management processesAssist with log review, monitoring alerts, and responding to security incidentsHelp enforce least-privilege access controls and security policies Backup & Disaster RecoveryMonitor backup jobs and ensure successful completionPerform periodic restore testingAssist with disaster recovery planning and system redundancy strategies Technical EnvironmentWindows 11Windows Server 2016/2019/2022Active Directory / Group PolicyMicrosoft 365 / Exchange OnlineMicrosoft D365Azure AD / Entra IDHyper-VIntune / Endpoint ManagerNetwork infrastructure (VLANs, VPN, firewalls, switching)Backup platform (Veeam)Ticketing system (JitBit) Required Qualifications3+ years of experience in IT support or systems administrationStrong troubleshooting skills across Windows operating systems and enterprise applicationsExperience administering Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environmentsWorking knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)Experience supporting virtualization platformsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple support requests Preferred QualificationsExperience with endpoint management tools (Intune, SCCM, or similar)Familiarity with scripting or automation (PowerShell, command, batch)Experience with backup and disaster recovery systemsExposure to cybersecurity practices and security frameworks Certifications (Preferred)CompTIA A+CompTIA Network+
