Role Description:

The IT Specialist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Frankfort, KY. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining the school's technology infrastructure, including servers, workstations, network equipment, as well as student devices (phones/tablets/tv's/photo frames/smart devices). Daily tasks include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting staff with technical requests, and ensuring reliable connectivity across campus as well as supporting students and their technology needs. The IT Specialist will monitor and enhance network security, perform system updates and backups, and document IT procedures and configurations. Simple tasks like replacing the batteries in student remote controls on up to firewall maintenance for students and staff are all a apart of this position. Collaboration with administrative, educational, and residential staff is essential to ensure that technology effectively supports the school's programs and operations.

Qualifications:

Strong Information Technology skills, including familiarity with operating systems, hardware, and common business and educational software. Network Administration experience, including configuring routers and switches, managing Wi-Fi, and maintaining local area networks. Proficiency in Troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network issues, with a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving problems. Knowledge of Network Security best practices, including user access control, antivirus solutions, and data protection measures. Customer Service skills to support faculty, staff, administrators, and students with patient, clear, and solution-focused communication. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple requests in a school environment. Ability to work independently on-site, as well as collaborate effectively with external support teams. Relevant technical certification or coursework in IT or related fields; prior experience in an educational or residential setting is beneficial. 5 Years minimum experience is required, clean background check and verifiable references.
