Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users, ensuring that all IT systems are functioning efficiently. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and a comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure, including desktop support, network administration, and software troubleshooting. The Desktop Support Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining the productivity of our organization by addressing technical issues promptly and effectively. Responsibilities Provide first-level support for hardware and software issues, including troubleshooting and resolving problems related to desktops, laptops, and peripherals. Assist users with VPN connectivity issues and ensure secure remote access to the company network. Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory, ensuring proper access controls are in place. Conduct routine maintenance on Windows Server environments and assist with server-related tasks as needed. Collaborate with the IT team to maintain and improve IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance across all systems. Document technical procedures, solutions, and user interactions in a clear and organized manner for future reference. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in desktop support and network administration. Experience Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles is essential. Strong knowledge of network administration principles, including computer networking concepts. Proficiency in software troubleshooting across various operating systems, particularly Windows and Linux environments. Familiarity with VPN configurations and remote access solutions is preferred. Experience working with Active Directory for user management is highly desirable. Understanding of Windows Server management and maintenance is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
