Immediate Position Summary Nahant Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, customer-focused Technology Support Specialist to support technology operations at Johnson Elementary School . This position blends field and office responsibilities to maintain devices, assist staff and students, and ensure excellent end-user experiences in a K-6 environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong collaboration skills, maintain clear and transparent communication, and contribute to a school culture grounded in support and teamwork. This role requires regular meetings with the principal to align on technology needs and priorities. The Technology Specialist may also be assigned additional duties by the principal and/or superintendent as needed to support district-wide initiatives. Key Qualifications Strong commitment to customer service and end-user satisfaction Organized multitasker with excellent time-management skills Clear communicator—able to explain complex technology in simpler terms Analytical thinker and efficient problem-solver Collaborative mindset Self-starter with an eye for improving technology experiences for our school community Respects confidentiality Core Responsibilities Device Lifecycle Management Inventory, deployment, maintenance, repair, and reassignment of school-issued devices (primarily Chromebooks and iPads) Coordinate device check-in/check-out procedures at the beginning and end of the school year Order device parts, track repairs, and maintain spare inventory Tier 2 Technical Support Provide hands-on support within the school building and resolve issues escalated through the district's help desk system (Freshdesk) Troubleshoot and resolve issues with devices, accounts, printers, AV equipment, and classroom technologies Software and Systems Support Support and maintain integration with systems such as: SchoolBrains (Student Information System) Google Workspace for Education Clever ParentSquare Apps•

& Renaissance Technology Apple School Manager JAMF School Freshdesk (help ticketing system) MCAS and ACCESS State Testing Device Repair & Setup Perform daily device repairs (especially Chromebooks and iPads) Set up, configure, and reassign MacBooks, iPads, and Chromebooks as needed Assist with staff account management and password resets Testing Support Assist with preparation and support for computer-based and paper-based state testing, including devices used for accommodations Documentation & Procedures Maintain internal documentation and assist with the creation of step-by-step guides for staff Follow and contribute to standard operating procedures for school technology systems Work Log Collaboration & Communication Meet regularly with the principal to review technology needs, plan support strategies, and ensure alignment with the school priorities Set up technology for School Committee and professional development meetings Maintain clear and timely communication with school and district staff regarding technology updates, concerns and project progress Remain flexible and responsive to additional responsibilities assigned by the principal and/or superintendent Physical Requirements Ability to sit, talk, hear regularly; walk and handle tools/devices as needed Lift/move up to 25 lbs occasionally Good close vision and ability to adjust focus Equal Opportunity Statement Nahant Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination and harassment.
