IT Support Specialist

IT Support Specialist LABUR is partnering with a client to find an IT Support Specialist who will serve as the first point of contact for technology needs across the organization and its operating companies. Reporting to the Director of IT, this hands-on role supports corporate staff, office teams, and employees in shop and field environments while helping standardize systems as the businesses continue to integrate. Day-to-day work spans help desk support, user and device management, light network and infrastructure tasks, and integration project work. Responsibilities Respond to support requests via phone, email, chat, and in person; log, track, and prioritize tickets while escalating complex issues to the Director of IT as needed Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues across Windows, macOS, and mobile devices for users ranging from corporate finance and HR staff to field crews and plant personnel Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts, permissions, groups, MFA, and shared resources across multiple operating companies using Active Directory/Entra ID and Microsoft 365 Provide first-line support for NetSuite, including user setup, role and access requests, login issues, and basic how-to questions, escalating configuration and data issues as appropriate Set up, configure, deploy, and retire laptops, desktops, tablets, phones, peripherals, and ruggedized field equipment while maintaining accurate hardware, software license, and warranty inventory across all entities Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, printers, servers, cloud services, and backup systems across multiple sites, traveling to locations as needed Follow and enforce IT security policies, support endpoint protection and patching, report phishing or suspicious activity immediately, and handle sensitive financial, employee, and customer information with discretion Support integration projects including user and device migrations to common platforms, system consolidations, new location onboarding, office moves, and maintain knowledge base articles and process documentation Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a similar hands-on technical role Working knowledge of Windows, macOS, Active Directory/Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, and VPN Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across several business units independently Associate's or bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred; certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus Experience supporting ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), ticketing systems, remote support tools, and MDM platforms desired Experience in manufacturing, industrial services, or construction environments and familiarity with IT consolidation following acquisitions preferred; exposure to cloud platforms, virtualization, or scripting (PowerShell, Bash) is a bonus Compensation $100,000 per year - Dependent on fit and experience
