Clarificion from the agency Open to current members of the Massachusetts Air Nional Guard (MAANG) and those eligible to transfer to the Massachusetts Air Nional Guard. Nional Guard Membership IS required for this announcement. Duties Help (1) Serves as a technical expert and focal point for the installion and configurion of hardware and software on personal computers and for personal da assistants associed with assigned systems. Develops, modifies, and tests overall system backup and recovery stregies for assigned systems. (2) Serves as a systems administror responsible for planning, coordining, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting in order to meet customer needs. Work pertains to the administrion of all systems, including a myriad of associed hardware plforms, software applicions and numerous interfaces included in the Local Area Network (LAN). (3) Serves as a technical expert on multiple opering systems and computer plforms. Determines equipment and communicions requirements and interfaces with other systems. Evalues machine usage and develops plans for the necessary acquisition to support future automion (hardware and software) requirements. (4) Analyzes, evalues, and recommends hardware/software changes to various computer systems. Considers factors such as compibility with standard systems, conversion or implemention costs, and impact on existing equipment. Installs, configures and tests products and equipment being reviewed. (5) Develops guidelines, standard opering procedures (SOPs), bulletins and flyers regarding the operion/use of assigned C4 systems, services, and activities. Analyzes policies, regulions, and system provisions governing standard opering systems and provides assistance and advisory services to users. (6) Implements systems software changes, opering system releases and maintains the operional stus of systems. Coordines with system developers resolving hardware and/or software malfunctions. (7) Performs security management in accordance with Nional Guard Bureau (NGB) and Air Nional Guard (ANG) regulions and policies. Reviews and implements local policies regarding system access, network rights, and physical access to systems and equipment. (8) Implements ANG policy reling to systems storage requirements. Analyzes system operions to identify inefficiencies and takes action to resolve problems and ensure optimal performance and consistency. (9) Provides input to the ANG Continuity of Operion Plan (COOP) procedures for system disaster recovery. COOP recovery includes reestablishment of systems multiple sites and locions. (10) Installs and configures workstion or network opering systems, and applicions software on a wide range of configurable informion systems devices. Configures a wide variety of devices requiring diverse interfaces and device drivers in multiple opering system environments using a wide variety of hardware plforms. Enforces command standards for hardware and software configurions. Configures workstion security parameters. Troubleshoots and corrects software problems to include resolving conflicts between applicions, hardware and/or device conflicts, and opering system faults. Detects and removes computer viruses. Restores critical da files. Updes hardware and software architecture dabases to reflect installions, turn-ins, and changes in reportable software. (11) Performs other duties as assigned.
