IT Specialist (SYSADMIN)

Duties

  • Provides technical advice and hands-on expertise in the planning, implementation, operation, upgrade and maintenance of account management and Public-Key Infrastructure (PKI) associated systems and applications.
  • Develops standards and procedures in association with user and privileged user Access PKI audit inspection efforts.
  • Provide token processes and procedures, reports, and any additional pertinent information required to satisfy inspections to and by the PKI Auditor(s).
  • Uses and monitors applications that manage server certificate requests, services, and other network devices. Uses and provides tech-commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) PKI applications and software/hardware enhancement products.
  • Effectively manage and maintain domain accounts within Active Directory, follow security practices associated with network access and authentication while providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
  • This is a drug testing designated position.
  • The incumbent is subject to recall or call back during off shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
  • Incumbent may be subject to varying work shifts and work shift rotations for mission support requirement of 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
  • Travel may be required using government, commercial, or military transportation.

Qualifying Experience:

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must possess qualifying experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience performing Registration Authority, Trusted Agent, or comparable identity and credential management functions within a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environment.

Volunteer Experience:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of the announcement.
