This is an Air Nional Guard (ANG) Dual Stus Technician position requiring military membership, compible military skill assignment, and classificion. This position is responsible for providing voice, da, wireless, Communicions Focal Point (CFP) and informion security services provided to the Wing, supported Geographically Separed Units, and Tenants. The incumbent specializes in one or more of the major informion technology (IT) and/or communicions systems/functions managed and maintained by the Unit - network infrastructure, wireless systems, voice systems, and CFP operions. The purpose of this position is to serve as a customer support specialist performing work involving analytical and evaluive duties reled to classified and unclassified informion technology networks and/or cyber system with primary knowledge requirements of informion processing methodology, informion technology, telecommunicions systems, computer capabilities, processing techniques, IT trouble ticket management, and da communicions.
MAJOR DUTIES 1.
Manages the assigned IT/communicions environment with privileged access the network level for the Wing, Geographically Separed Units (GSU), and Tenants. Plans, coordines, installs, and continuously analyzes system design, hardware and software. Develops, recommends, and installs solutions and upgrades to ensure availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of all components of the assigned system. Provides Informion Assurance systems support for all disciplines, ensuring the rigorous applicion of informion security/informion assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services. Performs system audits to assess security parameters and performance of IA controls within the network environment. 2. Serves as a focal point for ensuring functionality and operability of the assigned IT/da systems/functions, voice and wireless systems to support mission requirements of Wing, Geographically Separed Units (GSU), and Tenants. Optimizes the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems and ensures availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of system/functional resources while managing the communicions focal point coordinion and workload distribution duties. Analyzes, manages, and directs installion of any new hardware or software introduced into the environment to ensure its compibility with existing architecture, its reliability, and functionality in relion to the organizion's business requirements. Runs tests to verify operability and functionality; analyzes hardware and software malfunctions to resolve physical and logical processing problems; and recommends acquisition of programs, process or equipment which will resolve operional problems. 3. Provides customer technical assistance and support for all users. Provides ongoing technical support to customers to ensure proper functional use of equipment and programs and to preclude undue interruptions to IT and communicions services. Works with customers to ensure efficient operions which support each units' requirements. Assists in solving problems associed with delivery of hardware and software orders. Provides management with informion necessary to address difficult and complex problems in automing work processes. Tracks life of system equipment, prepares and provides analyses to determine future maintenance and replacement costs to help justify budget submissions. 4. Determines customer requirements and assists customers by recognizing and analyzing trends and providing instruction and oriention services. Identifies and documents system requirements for specific needs of customers. Conducts in-depth analyses of system usage, user complaints, traffic interruptions, hardware and software capabilities, and other relevant factors. Recommends methods and procedures and coordines corrective action to optimize utilizion of present equipment. Ensures upgrades to the base IT and communicions infrastructure are identified and assists customers in developing and submitting recommendions for additional equipment and funds. Cooperes and works with unit personnel in planning and developing new or additional infrastructure/architecture capabilities. Identifies potential performance or capacity problems. Works with technical support personnel in resolving problems. 5. Conducts feasibility studies to identify and analyze system failures and analyzes da to determine if trends exist which forecast the need for future replacement or modificion of system hardware and software. Based upon the results of studies and the analyses of trends in usage and system problems, determines the feasibility of significant modificions vs. replacement to improve reliability. GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operor or assistant, computer sales representive, program analyst, or other positions th required the use or adaption of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
GS-09 Includes experience, educion, or training receiving, maintaining, and issuing da storage media for computer operions. Experience in scheduling the use of computer time for program processing. Experience collecting and sequentially staging input media with associed program instructions for processing. Experience in least one programming language. Transling detailed logical steps developed by others into language codes th computers accept where this required understanding of procedures and limitions approprie to use of a programming language. Experience interviewing subject-mter personnel to get facts regarding work processes and synthesizing the resulting da into charts showing informion flow. Experience in analysis of the interrelionship of pertinent components of the system. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment. Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency.
