Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to staff and be the on-site representative to help IT systems run smoothly. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot various hardware and software issues across different platforms. Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for IT issues, providing support for hardware, software, and network-related concerns. Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment including desktops, laptops, printers, switches, etc. Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop systems, servers, and peripheral devices. Communicate effectively with users to understand their technical problems and provide clear solutions. Communicate effectively with internal team and provide clear notes when elevating tickets. Maintain documentation of support requests and resolutions for future reference. Coordinate with external vendors for 3rd party services. Collaborate with rest of IT and Cybersecurity team to improve processes and ensure high availability. Participate in the planning and implementation of new IT systems and projects. Experience and Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience and/or certifications). Experience in an IT support role or help desk environment preferred. Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts. Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) Knowledge of networking protocols and hardware (switches, routers, VLANs, firewalls) Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Net+, Cisco, Microsoft preferred. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical users. A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong analytical skills.
