Initializes the system, performs system backups, determines operor access and control functions (privilege management), reloads and configures the opering system's parameters. Serves as the Base Computer Security (COMPUSEC) Manager. Serves as Wing/Base Informion Systems Security Manager (ISSM). Manages, provides guidance and assists in the preparions of certificion and accredition packages in accordance with prescribing directives. Analyzes the informion ghered to determine vulnerabilities, thres, and detect any compromises. Works with the Network Control Center (NCC), and the Regional Operions Security Control center (ROSC), to implement procedures to protect informion on networks managed by the NCC. Manages, develops, and conducts the base computer Security Awareness Training and Educion Informion Assurance Awareness Program. Serves as the Telecommunicions Monitoring and Assessment Program (TMAP) Manager. Manages the Base Emissions Security (EMSEC) program. Serves as the central focal point for Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNO) system vulnerability alerts. Performs other duties as assigned. THIS POSITION CONDUCTS INFORMATION ASSURANCE FUNCTIONS. THE INCUMBENT SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE OUTLINED IN DOD INSTRUCTION 8570.01-M.
This position is designed as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparion for, or in response to, a ste emergency or disaster declarion. Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. United Stes Citizenship is required. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Participion in direct deposit is mandory. Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or terminion. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigion. Position is subject to the provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program. Advanced in hire re may be granted to set pay above the minimum re of the grade for a new employee if he/she possesses superior qualificions relevant to the positions' requirements and is essential to accomplish the agency's mission. The duties performed in a non-federal or active duty uniformed service position must directly rele to the position to which appointed and such qualificions are necessary to achieve an important agency mission or performance goal to be eligible. Appointments of retired members of the Armed Forces as Nional Guard employees within 180 days of retirement requires a waiver approved by the Adjutant General of Missouri before an effective de can be established. Temporary appointments are subject to terminion any time. This position can be filled up to four years if funds are available to support it. In the event a permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) or indefinite (Tenure 3) employee is selected, and is willing to accept the temporary appointment, th employee will relinquish permanent or indefinite stus. GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Must possess least one year of specialized experience equivalent to least the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the prive or public sector th demonstres a thorough knowledge of a wide range of telecommunicions and informion technology security, techniques, requirements, methods, sources, and procedures for the following programs: Computer Security (COMPUSEC), Certificion and Accredition program, Emissions Security (EMSEC), Security Awareness Training and Educion (SATE) and Informion Assurance Awareness Programs. The specialized experience must also demonstre thorough knowledge of concepts, principles, methods, and practices in informion systems security to design, develop, implement and maintain secure systems and services, assess the effectiveness of current systems security and services, evalue the feasibility of new systems security and services, and provide advice and guidance on complex issues. Experience must demonstre thorough knowledge of informion systems security principles and methods to design, develop, implement, and manage systems, networks, and da th ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Experience must demonstre thorough knowledge of methods for evaluing, implementing, and dissemining informion systems security tools and procedures to ensure, protect, and restore informion security systems and network services and capabilities.
DOD Informion Awareness Certificion Requirements:
The employee must obtain and maintain a minimum a Secret security clearance. Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain and maintain certificions per DoD Directive 8570.1-M, AR 25-2, and as detailed in the Informion Assurance (IA) Training and Certificion Best Business Practice (BBP). Failure to sisfactorily obtain and maintain required certificions in accordance with the listed publicions are grounds for terminion.
