Title:
Computer Technician
Qualifications:
1.College level courses specializing in computer operation, installation, maintenance, and repair or 2 years' experience of hardware/software support in a network environment. 2. Knowledge of computer operating systems, networking, hardware/software configuration and general technical terminology.
Reports To:
Technology Coordinator
Job Goal:
Performs basic set up, support, maintenance and troubleshooting of stand alone and networked PC's, software, terminals, and peripherals.
Performance Responsibilities:
Maintains good relations with the public and staff individually and in general. Assists with setting up and inventorying computer equipment Schedules and performs maintenance on computer equipment. Installs new software and upgrades. Maintains database services, warranties and problem reports. First lines support for hardware and software problems. Troubleshoots hardware and software problems; makes repairs. Assists supervisors in training staff. Communicates with hardware/software vendors. Communicates with staff to diagnose problems and keep them informed on technical issues. Attends workshops and meetings related to school technology. Delivers equipment to and from Central Office as needed. Assists staff in setting up computer equipment for demos, workshops and meetings. Helps maintain district and school websites and district network Makes required daily back-ups Assists schools and departments with long-range technology planning. Updates personal technological knowledge and skills. Configures local workstations as needed. Encourages student development of skills in the use of instructional technology resources. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Technology Coordinator and principals may from time to time assign. Terms of 233 days a year. Salary to be established by the Board.
