Job Description

The Desktop Specialist is responsible for providing technical support in the areas of personal computers and end user computing through direct help and assigned help desk tickets. The Desktop Specialist provides assistance with computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, electronic mail, and operating systems. Provides technical support for desktop hardware and software, cell phones and tablets, and peripheral devices Installs, configures, supports, and maintains personal computing devices and peripherals Effectively monitors and prioritizes ticket queue Involved in the installation and rollout of new software packages, upgrades, and new desktop hardware Responsible for ordering and upgrading all iOS and Android devices Helps end users to troubleshoot issues on iOS and Android devices Ensures proper device obsoletion procedures are performed Coordinates and performs PC equipment moves and installations Coordinates with collaborating departments for computer or equipment moves Performs installation of new computers, devices or equipment Maintains installation checklists to document installations and setups for user equipment Provides follow up to end users to ensure device installation and moves are completed according to request
Education:
High School or GED Experience:
2 years installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading personal computers and printers
Skills:
Interpersonal skills while understanding the needs for a positive customer service experience Multitasking, time-management and organization
